Social scientist. Data enthusiast. Entrepreneur, maker of tech-for-good.
I get involved in all kinds of projects: Software projects in social science. Action-research. Data visualisations. They have something in common: using social science to bring a positive change in the world.
Action research
Trained as a social psychologist, I work with a variety of research methods and approaches. A thread going through many of these projects is a desire to understand why people get involved in changing their behaviour and their communities.
I enjoy designing software and writing code, and managing the development process. Most of my work has been to develop apps for mobiles for the academic/research sector.
Complex science topics and research results can be difficult to grasp. I love to try to turn this content into accessible infographics, animations and explainer videos, and interactive data visualisations.
In short... I grew up in Romania, where I studied Psychology and Computer Science. In 2008, I relocated to England for an MSc, PhD, and lecturing/researching for a few years. In 2014, I co-founded a tech company for the research sector, Psynovigo, and later on moved out of academia to carrying out independent research consulting. I currently live in the beautiful region of Transylvania, in the city of Cluj-Napoca.
